Synopsis
“Coby Our Furry Friend” is a wonderful and heartwarming story about the special friendship and bond between a dog named Coby and all the girls and boys he meets. It is a story of a true friend and companion and displays a pet’s love and loyalty to people. The book teaches children about friendship, how to care, helping others as well as the many things retriever dogs do for people every day.

Exciting, Engaging and Fun-Filled!
I’m a preschool teacher and the children in my class enjoyed this exciting, engaging and fun-filled book. The children were engaged throughout the entire reading and by the end were all saying that they wanted a dog like Coby and that they liked the book. I also decided to read the story to my three children at home…and they had the same reaction to the book. They enjoyed and loved the entire reading from beginning to end. My two oldest children are afraid of dogs and after reading this story, they were asking me if I could get them a dog like Coby (hopefully soon).

A very sweet story
Ms. Vero did a great job at sharing the joy of having a family pet and how that experience enriches childhood. Just like "Coby", the rhymes are playful. We look forward to Coby’s next adventure. The only downside is that now my children are asking me when we are going to get a family dog. We could all use a best friend like Coby in our lives.

A fun read for children of all ages
Coby Our Furry Friend is a very enjoyable book, both to read aloud to very young children and for those who can read themselves. I got this book for all my grand nieces and nephews and they absolutely loved the story and especially the rhyming lines. They identified with Coby because they all have dogs and that made the book personally relevant to them. The colorful illustrations are super too. My littlest grand niece went to bed with this book under her pillow the first night she read it. Does not get much better than that. I highly recommend adding this book to your child’s library.

This book is a delight. I bought it for my grandson Wyatt when he was 18 months. He loved when I read him the story and he said Coby’s name. Now at two he reads the story himself (pretends to). He knows all the words. The book is almost as big as he is!

Linda Vero, the author, recently visited our library for a special storytime and read Coby, Our Furry Friend. My whole group loved it. It’s a great story for dog lovers and for introducing young children to dogs. The animal science in the book is solid, the language is accessable for toddlers, and the artwork is cheerful and friendly.
